This is a rare March 1969 preview playbill from the Original Broadway production of the STEPHEN GLASSMAN, RON DANTE and GENE ALLAN musical flop “BILLY” at the Billy Rose Theatre in New York City. (The production opened March 22nd, 1969 and closed after only one performance.) ….. This musical version of Herman Melville’s “Billy Budd” starred LAURENCE NAISMITH, JOHN BEAL, JOHN DEVLIN and ROBERT SALVIO in the title role and featured DOLPH SWEET, BARBARA MONTE, ALAN WEEKS, GEORGE MARCY, WILLIAM COUNTRYMAN, DANNY CARROLL, STEVEN BOOCKVOR, FRANK DE SAL and IGORS GAVON …..
